St. Ferdinand Boys' Town

Annual Feast Day

St. Ferdinand Day Celebration

Every year on May 30th, we celebrate the Feast of St. Ferdinand III of Castile — our patron saint — with a week of novenas, special Masses, and parish festivities.

Feast Day: May 30th annually

Our Patron Saint

Saint Ferdinand III of Castile

Saint Ferdinand III (1199–1252) was King of Castile and León, renowned for his personal holiness, justice, and zeal for the Faith. He united Spain under the Cross, founded the Cathedral of Burgos, and established the University of Salamanca. He was canonised by Pope Clement X in 1671.

His example of servant leadership, charity to the poor, and unwavering faith make him an ideal patron for our parish community in Boys’ Town.

“I fear more to do an injustice than I do the armies of the Moors.”

A Proud Tradition

Four Decades of Celebration

Since the founding of the parish in 1984, the Feast of St. Ferdinand has been celebrated with great joy and solemnity. Over the years, the celebration has grown into one of the most anticipated events in the Agege Deanery — bringing together parishioners, sister parishes, and friends from across Lagos.
